Our Vision The Grange is a Vital and Active part of the Community. and The Community is a Vital and Active part of the Grange. Our Mission To Serve the Golden Gate Canyon Community Mid Winter News Line Dancing - Every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month 7-9 p.m.
We have been holding Golden Gate Grange meetings via the internet since March. If you would like to join the virtual meetings, please notify Jayne Ruesch (jayruesch@aol.com) and we will add you to the roster.
Our new system for the marquee has been installed and lights added. Thanks to Rich Phillips and Dave Primmer for their work on this project.
Terri Costeldia, Rich Phillips and DeeDee Ramstetter have been busy cleaning, organizing and updating the Grange interior. They will be painting and refreshing the main entryway, kitchen and the restrooms. We hope to be able to replace the damaged and stained ceiling in the main room when finances permit.
At the last Grange meeting several ideas for the warmer month were discussed. Included in the discussions were an outdoor garden sale, a food truck, and a summer outdoor concert. We are all anxious to be able to gather as a community and will monitor the health conditions in the county when deciding on where and how to accomplish that end.
We lost a valued member of our Grange in January with the passing of Natalie Mozer.
In Memoriam
Natalie Zerobnick Mozer was a lifelong Denver resident. She moved to Golden Gate Canyon in the early 2000’s and for the next almost 20 years was an integral part of the community. Her twice yearly open house parties were legend. Oldtimers and new residents were invited. New friendships were born out of these gatherings. Natalie was always open to including new faces, new families. Her party organizing skills also included coordinating several reunions for her Class of 1960 for her alma mater, East High School in Denver.
Natalie leant her energy to supporting the two main community organizations in the canyon, the Golden Gate Fire Protection District and the Golden Gate Grange. For several years she organized both a fundraising effort and the food for the annual Fire Department Pig Roast. More recently, Natalie faithfully manned the kitchen at our monthly Grange Pancake Breakfasts, always supplying extra goodies like fresh fruits and berries.
She is survived by daughters, Sheri Mozer, Jill Mozer and Lora Mozer (Linette Erickson) and grandsons Connor, Hunter and Tyler Powell.
Contributions in Natalie’s memory can be made to The Denver Hospice or National Jewish Health.

VIRTUAL PRESENTATION TUESDAY, OCT. 6 AT 7 PM Wildlife Program- Wolves, Coyotes, Rattlesnakes Join us on Tuesday, October 6 at 7 p.m. for our next program in the Colorado Wildlife Series. This will be a virtual presentation. Grange members will receive an email with sign-in details. This year Mary Ann Bonnell from Jefferson County Open Space will speak about Rattlesnakes, Coyotes and Wolves. Ms. Bonnell is a human-wildlife conflict researcher. In the past she has shared local information and safety tips for interactions with mountain lions, moose and bears. With the ballot issue about the possible reintroduction of wolves and the reported sightings of wolves in the northwestern part of the state, this is an important time to learn more about wolf biology and behavior and how it compares to coyote ecology. Another subject of importance is how to avoid harmful encounters with rattlesnakes for both humans and animals. In recent years two hikers were bitten at Mt. Galbraith Park, resulting in one death and one serious injury. It is critical to know how to minimize the chances of such encounters, and also what to do if a person or a pet is bitten. Enjoy fresh produce and flowers from the Fruitdale Farm run by Golden Gate Grange members Barbara Bankovich, Kassandra Rumbaugh and their family. Open Saturdays 8-12. They have flowers, eggplant, lots of peppers, onions, squash, carrots. Also, tomatoes, beans and corn are just about ready and melons and pumpkins later. Located at 4500 Robb Street, Wheat Ridge, just off 44th Avenue. In an effort to ensure the health and safety of our members, neighbors, families and visitors, we have decided to suspend most events at the Golden Gate Grange. Line Dancing has resumed from 7-9 p.m. on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month. We will notify you by email, social media and the marquee when other activities will resume. Thanks to our wonderful volunteers! Thanks to our wonderful volunteers who came out last Sunday at 7 am to clean the roadside from below Galbraith Park to Crawford Gulch...and the Golden Gate Grange and GGFPD Station 3 property, too! A big shout out to Gordon and Laura Pierce, Terri Costeldia, Rich Phillips, Alyn Hansen, Thanks to Sally and Tom Wingfield for weed whacking the grasses around the Grange property! It certainly looks great. Finally, thanks to Janet and Dave Primmer, Rich Phillips, Mitch Jervis and Trent, Kim and Rick Bonczynski for continuing to handle the big task of can recycling!!! We appreciate all the donation of cans, especially since it looks like our only major fundraiser this year! With the state legislature debating about the possible reintroduction of wolves and the reported sightings of wolves in the northwestern part of the state, this is an important time to learn more about wolf biology and behavior and how it compares to coyote ecology.
