We will hold our Autumn Community Brunch on Sunday, October 6th from 10am to 12 noon. This free event is a great way to connect with friends, neighbors and other Grange members. The buffet will include pancakes, sausage, bagel and cream cheese, yogurt, granola, breakfast casseroles, fruit, coffee, tea, juice and more! This is a good way to introduce the Grange to a friend or neighbor who is interested in learning more about “that little white building on Golden Gate Road”….and maybe joining!
The Craft Fair is being held earlier than usual on October 19th from 9am to 4pm. Get a head start on holiday shopping. Great place to find Christmas, Hannukah, birthday or hostess gifts! We always have a wide variety of crafters, many of them local residents. Don’t miss this chance to find that one of a kind gift for someone special. For more information contact Deb Curlee (dmcurl@bellsouth.net) or Thirza Kennedy (tamk4407@gmail.com).
The Trunk or Treat party will be held on October 27th from 5 to 7 PM. Both kids and parents always enjoy showing off their costumes. If you are interested in hosting a Trunk and handing out treats call Terri Costeldia at 970 640-7185. More information will be provided closer to the date if weather interferes with our plans.
In late November to early December, we will partner with CASA of Jefferson County’s Giving Tree to donate gifts to children and teens in foster care or in need. We will choose a number of tags from the Giving Tree. Keep an eye out for more information which will be sent by email outlining the tags we will commit to fulfill. CASA was very appreciative of our support for their efforts last year.
Wreath Making is a favorite activity in early December. We will supply the native greens and other supplies for you to make a beautiful wreath. You can bring your own wreath frame or buy one for $5. This is free (other than the cost of a wreath frame) for Grange members. Non-Grange members will be asked for a $5 donation for attending. It is best to RSVP if you plan to attend but walk-ins are welcome.
We started collecting old and damaged flags in June. A Friend of the Grange, Bill Frueh, has volunteered to take any flags we receive to the VFW Museum where they will be retired with dignity and honor. We have already collected 46 flags. This will be a year-round project, so bring us any flags that you would like to have retired in a respectful manner.
