Toy Drive and Wrapping Party for Jeffco

Foster Kids' Christmas!

Wow! The Golden Gate Grangers and other Golden Gate Canyon Community members were phenomenal in their support of the Jeffco Foster Kids Toy Drive! Thanks to all who brought gifts and to those who helped us wrap hundreds of gifts. Thanks to Janet Primmer for organizing the event and for all her work with Jeffco Foster Kids Program.

Fellow Grange members and neighbors, one of yearly community service projects to help the Foster Families in our county "make a Merry Christmas" for the children who have been taken out of their homes and placed in foster care. If you can help this year by donating presents, please drop them off at the Golden Gate Grange on Sunday, December 13th from 8:30 am to 2 pm. We will also need volunteers on that day to wrap the presents for Santa to give to the kids at their party the following week. The Wrapping Party will begin after the pancake breakfast from 11 am to 3 pm. If you can volunteer a couple of hours to wrap presents, it would be a huge help!

Thanks to everyone who helps us with this project.

CPR CLASS AT THE GOLDEN GATE GRANGE

Living in the foothills, it is very wise to be trained in CPR. If a friend or loved one goes into cardiac arrest, the first thing you should do is call 911. As quickly as possible after calling for help, one should start CPR on the afflicted person. This will increase the probability of a favorable outcome when professional help arrives.

The Golden Gate Grange will offer a CPR course given by Front Range CPR. The class will cost $40/per person (plus $5 for non grange members). If 12 people or more attend, you will receive a $5 rebate.

The class is scheduled for Thursday, May 12th from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Call Janet Primmer 303 239-6789 for reservations or more information. You can send a check to reserve you place to:

Golden Gate Grange

Community Appreciation Day for 2016

Citizens of the Year

On Saturday, August 20th at 1 PM we will be honoring Richard and Ellen Phillips as Grange Members of the Year. Since Rich assumed the role of Grange Master, with much support from Elle, the Golden Gate Grange has grown and become a real community center that we can all be proud of. Please come to hear about all that has been accomplished and to honor this dynamic duo!

We will also be honoring Kirk Johnson. Hear about the life's journey of this long time area resident. Kirk's work in mental health and counseling has helped hundreds and has a huge impact right here in Golden Gate Canyon. As they say, at this event you will hear the rest of the story.

If you would like to write a tribute or some words of praise to Rich and Elle or Kirk, please email them to me or bring them to the event.

In addition, our new GGFPD Fire Chief will attend this event and will give a brief address. Come meet Doug Cupp and welcome him to the community!

Finally, we will hold an ice cream social, so kids of all ages are welcome!

Hope to see you on Saturday!
